Guemes Island Ferry back in service 01.13.2021

The Guemes Island Ferry is back in service. Please be aware that power is out on both sides; therefore, we have to power the transfer spans with the generator on the vessel. That means it is taking us longer to complete runs, and the ferry may be running behind schedule.

The wind storm last night resulted in a vessel (not the ferry) breaking free from its moorage and slamming up against our Anacortes bridge, transfer span and breakwater. We had to wait for bridge inspectors to approve operation of our bridge before we could start service this morning.

If you are riding the ferry today, please be patient with us. And, please pay extra attention to the crew member’s directions.
