Guemes Ferry Out of Service Tuesday, January 16 2024

Guemes Island Ferry back up and running at 9:45 a.m.
The Guemes Island Ferry is back up and running following USCG approval to return to service. The next run will be at 9:45 a.m. There was a minor issue with the main engine’s fuel system. Fortunately our contracted mechanic from Cummins was on site first thing this morning to help us out. They are always quick to respond and do what they can to get us back up and running.
We realize there was an inconvenience this morning when we couldn’t offer passenger-only service. The USCG had not authorized us to leave the slip.

Previous notice (sent 1/16 at 8:34 a.m.):

We have been troubleshooting this morning, and we think we may have found the source of the main engine failure. We’ve got the engine running, and we’ll update you again when we know more.

Previous notice (sent 1/15 at 10:21 p.m.):

The Guemes Island Ferry is out of service as of 10:00 p.m. Monday, January 15. The issue is with one of the main engines. We will troubleshoot the morning of Tuesday, January 16 and call in mechanics to troubleshoot. The ferry will not be operating Tuesday morning and passenger service cannot be provided until we can move Guemes.
