Guemes Island Ferry Service Update  11.15.2021  2:59

The Guemes Island Ferry has been shut down since approximately 1:00 p.m. due to high wind and waves. There is a gale warning in effect for the northern inland waters until 7:00 p.m. tonight. The forecast is calling for westerly winds at 25-35 knots tonight, compared to 30-40 knots this afternoon. So far, conditions have not calmed down to the point where the ferry can safely operate. In addition, the tide is now outgoing until 8:30 p.m. tonight. An ebb current combined with a westerly wind may result in the ferry being out of service for the next several hours.
