Guemes Island Ferry Operating at Reduced Speed

07.06.2023 (11:35 PM)

The Guemes Island Ferry is up and running for the 11:15 a.m. run; however, we will not be able to do a second 11:15 a.m. sailing. The next run will be at 1:00 p.m.

07.06.2023 (10:40 AM)

Crews are still working on repairs to the ferry. We will try to be back in service for the 11:15 a.m. sailing. Another update will be sent if we cannot resume service.

07.06.2023 (7:09 AM)

The Guemes Island Ferry will temporarily shut down after the 8:30 a.m. sailing for a repair to the vessel’s main engine. The repair could take up to two hours during which time the vessel will remain in the Anacortes slip. Therefore, passenger-only service will not be provided. If all goes smoothly, it is estimated the ferry will re-enter service for the 10:45 a.m. sailing. Please plan accordingly. Another notice will be sent out at 10:30 a.m.

Community Members,
The Guemes Island ferry is currently in operation; however, we are having some issues with one of the main engines. The ferry is operating at a reduced speed and will try to keep up with the traffic demand. We anticipate continuing service through tonight and we will have a technician on site tomorrow morning at 4:00 a.m. to help us diagnose the issues.

This notice is an early heads up that in the next 24 hours, we might have to make the difficult decision to shut down temporarily. We will keep you posted and share updates when we have them. To the extent you can, please plan accordingly.
