Fueling Scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Good afternoon,

This is a notification to let you know that the ferry will be fueling on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 after the 11:15 a.m. run.; therefore, there will be no double on the 11:15 a.m. run.

As a reminder, the ferry takes on fuel every other Tuesday. If you would like to know about future fueling days, the 2016 fueling schedule is available on our website at:

Also, when it is possible to do so, I will send out a notification on this email list serve alerting riders of days when there is scheduled maintenance after the 11:15 a.m. run. Scheduled maintenance includes oil changes or other routine maintenance that requires the ferry be shut down between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 a.m. On these days, there will be no double after the 11:15 a.m. run; hopefully if riders have this information ahead of time, plans can be made accordingly. There may be times when early notification of maintenance will simply not be possible; this is referred to as un-scheduled maintenance and generally cannot be avoided.

Please note that crews do their best to schedule maintenance when it will have the least impact to riders. The exception to this would be fueling, which takes place every other Tuesday. Other times, like today, Monday, August 22, 2016, the Mechanic reported elevated levels of antifreeze in the #2 engine and made the call to change it out right away.
