Construction on ferry bridges – Mar. 13-17

Culbertson Marine Construction mobilized a barge today, Monday, March 13 to begin work on the ferry bridge aprons. During a recent WSDOT inspection, cracks were discovered on both the Anacortes and Guemes aprons that needed to be repaired as soon as possible. This work could be done overnight, but in an effort to cut costs, day time work windows were chosen on a trial basis. If the work impedes with passenger service, the foot ferry will be the priority. The work is being done during haul-out because the Strait Arrow completes the runs quicker than Guemes thus leaving more downtime between sailings for them to do the necessary welding/repairs.

For questions about the project, please contact (360) 416-1466.

Passenger-only service will not be disrupted
The work will take place so that passenger-only service will not be disrupted. Repairs to the ferry bridges should be complete by the time Guemes returns to service on Monday, March 20, at 6:30 a.m. However, there may be extenuating circumstances that cause work to continue in to next week.
